By CarChamonix takes about 8 or 9 hours from most channel ferry ports, driving is easy on the French Autoroutes and route finding is straightforward. Check out www.mappy.com for a detailed route plan, and Holiday Autos for a cheap hire car.
By TrainIt is possible to travel to Chamonix by train and there is a very well located station. However, it is not the quickest, easiest or cheapest option.
